This love story all began the summer after my freshman year of college. I went home and stepped on the scale for the first time in a year and realized I had gained 20 pounds.
I thought to myself, “Emily, it’s time to buckle down and get this weight off.” But I had no idea where on earth I was going to start.
There were so many workout options I could choose from. I looked into a ton of different cardio options but nothing jumped out at me.
After hours of thinking and searching through options, I remembered a while back someone told me that they did spin. I had never tried spin but I mean I liked riding a bike and I figured why not give it a shot? (casually riding a bike is NOTHING like spin by the way, I learned this the hard way)
I immediately went to google and typed in 3 words, “spin studio Dallas.”
A few options came up but I clicked the first one I saw, which was Lync Cycling
…little did I know, that was the beginning of my life-long obsession with spin.
After my first class at Lync I was head over heels. No joke, it was all I could think about it. The people were so inspirational, the energy was vibrant and exciting, and you could tell that this place was more like a community of people than just a place to work out. I felt like I had found a place where I felt a real connection.
I left my very first class DRIPPING in sweat and panting like a dog. My entire body hurt from my head to my toes…but I was in LOVE.
It was the craziest feeling. I had never done anything where I felt SO awful and SO amazing all at the same time. Even though it was the hardest workout I had ever done in my life, I couldn’t stop smiling.
All I could think about is when I would be able to come back to this beautiful studio and see all of these amazing people again.
Here we are 2 years later and I am still just as in love as I once was.
If you haven’t tried spin, DO IT. I guarantee you will love it. And if you’re in Dallas and want to check out my personal fav go to Lync!! First class is FREE! 🙂
